The Giralda — Symbol of Seville

The Giralda is one of the most recognisable landmarks in Spain. Originally built as the minaret of a 12th-century mosque, it was later crowned with a Renaissance bell tower and has since become the symbol of Seville. Visitors can climb to the top via a series of ramps — wide enough that legend has it the muezzin once rode up on horseback. The view from the top stretches across the rooftops of Seville and far into the surrounding landscape.. Discover more about the Giralda
